I gathered some friends, and we had our first meal assembly session. We made 12 meals and I have been hooked ever since. I can not describe what a blessing this has been for our family. I'm sure that some people would disagree, but an "on" device just worries me. Also, I feel that I'm wasting a lot of energy with a device "on" all day long.

This place really is amazing. It has a rich history which makes it the perfect place to visit when in Chicago, it is completely affordable (read about a few menu options a few paragraphs down), and the top personalities in the world frequent it!

My dining companion ordered the Rolli sausage stew Sub and declared it superb. The sausage was excellent and the grilled onions and peppers and brown mustard were the perfect toppings.

If eggs is what is really appealing, then try adding some veggies to it. Scramble a couple of eggs, and add some green sausage stew german red bell pepper. Add a little chopped onion to the mixture to make a great flavor. Add a little cheese on top and again, you have a great new egg breakfast. This is really good with some fresh fruit on the side and a piece of toast.

Plus with the potatoes left in a 5 pound bag, there is always baked potatoes with butter and cheese as a side, an addition for a great slow cooker egg and sausage casserole with eggs and toast.

Fry up a pound of slow cooker sausage casserole if you prefer meat in your egg bake. If I use sausage I add my onion, mushrooms and celery in with the meat. You don't have to precook your vegetables if you don't use meat, you can just add vegetables to the egg mixture.

B) I was searching for a product to change my slow cooker and preferably wanted a stainless steel insert. That is not simple to find but I did discover the Instant Pot IP-LUX60. Pressure cooking was foreign to me but since I started to study more, I understood this sounded even better than slow cooking. I received the pot in a timely manner and it is a good-looking piece. My first food was chicken breasts that has been frozen. That's correct, I put frozen chicken breasts with onions and a can of rotel and seasonings.

The casserole also doubles as an excellent breakfast taco or burrito. Six to eight people can comfortably finish off this recipe but the casserole can be saved for a number of days in a covered container and used as different meals. Again, experiment with using the casserole as filling for a number of Mexican dishes. For an even more authentic Mexican experience, opt for cotija cheese, a product of Mexico with a real unique flavor, instead of cheddar or jack and use refried beans instead of hash browns. There are no absolutes in the world, save for the whole bit about death and taxes. This is especially true in the dating world. Dating websites are supposed to help us with this, to a degree. Eat less meat. I knew the impact of a heavy meat diet, but I love meat and the idea of vegetarian meals was off-putting for me. Until it occurred to me that I could make a lot of the foods we already eat meatless: spaghetti, tacos (mmm bean and cheese tacos!), homemade slow cooker mac and cheese with bacon family circle. Not only did having one or two meatless meals a week help me meet my frugal grocery budget, it also opened my eyes to the fact that meatless doesn't = tofu.

Another noteworthy place is the Strutt--which just opened in 2008. I have not been there to eat yet, but I must tell you their selection sounds delicious, and inexpensive. The restaurant is located at the corner of West Michigan and Academy, and the appetizers are really inexpensive, all under $10.00. You can choose from a macaroni cheese egg yolk plate, for example, for only $6.50. It comes with fresh tomato, assorted olives, hummus, babaganoush, cucumbers, and a toasted pita. If that is not your thing, try the Fried Polenta or the Hot Cheese Dip, both checking in at $5.50, or the chips and salsa, at--get this: $1.50.

Insoluble fiber is the technical term for what my Mom always referred to as "roughage". You know.. the stuff that makes food move through your body more easily. Insoluble fiber has received a lot of publicity in recent years because of the link to a high fiber diet and macaroni cheese lowered risk of several types of cancer.

Once you know how much you will be receiving for the month, figure out how much you can spend each week, and only shop once per week. The less time you spend in the store, the higher the chances you will avoid impulse buys on food items that you really don't need. This leads to my next suggestion - do not buy anything that you don't absolutely need. That is not to say that you should not be able to splurge every once in a while, but leave that for the end of the month and only splurge if you have already purchased everything you need. If you have anything left over at the end of the month, you deserve to treat yourself. If not, then you really don't.
